The area under Lalan Plantations Ltd had been planted with rubber trees for around 100 years. All the plantations are located between 6° 50’E-7° 27’E Latitudes and between 80° 10’N -80° 33’N Longitudes consists of 7,761.25 ha with 5,908.84 ha cultivated with tree crops. These consist of 5,373.78 ha of rubber(Hevea brazelinensis), 96.7 ha of tea(Camellia sinensis) bushes, 388.62 ha of coconut (Cocos nucifera), 169.46 ha of forest trees and 7.23 ha of other agricultural crops. There are also 722.44 ha of protected forest areas within the plantation and 807.48 ha with labour lines, roads, bridges, offices and rocky sites where planting is not possible. |
